HTMR guns differ by airjet and nozzle size combinations. See table below. Airjets and nozzles are available separately to upgrade/downgrade the size of the gun. The gun sizes ship assembled per table below. All parts are interchangeable. Need a bigger gun? 15HP/45CFM is available in boron carbide only.

The table below shows how the 5HP & 7.5HP guns can use a nozzle one size larger. With no other changes, a larger nozzle size will allow more volume of slurry/media however at a slower velocity, which is great for polishing at 40psi. Also, you can build a hybrid gun size to get an in between size. For example, if you want a 20cfm gun, then a 5HP airjet/7.5HP nozzle combo at 80psi will do the trick. The pressure in this case is increased to speed up media velocity. Do not swap nozzles on the 3HP & 10HP gun configurations. Guns do not ship in this configuration, you will have to buy the nozzles separately.

This gun is amazing. It is more than twice as fast as your typical cheap Amazon gun. Going to the HTMR gun after 1 year of service using the Amazon gun was an eye opening experience. It is SO MUCH better. Yes, It will feel longer because it is, but you wont care. You will find that it works like an accurately tuned, and efficient tool. Going back to the Amazon shotgun nozzle would be my worst nightmare. Did I mention that I LOVE this gun?

Fantastic gun. I originally ordered for my yet-to-be-delivered VHT wet blast cabinet so I decided to try it out in my ScatBlast dry cabinet. With walnut shell media this gun is AMAZING. It very quickly blasts away grime/grease/dirt. It is easily 5x as efficient as the Scat gun. With glass bead it is not as much drastically faster but produces a much nicer finish.

Outstanding job, I bought this gun before my new 11K wet blast cabinet showed up, the gun they provided is a nice billet aluminum piece w/ ss air nozzle and boron tip, I used thiers for about the first hour to get reference and then swapped over to yours (they both are 10HP size air jet) it is hands down much faster and way more accurate…. you were right about the ability to focus the blast especially for air cooled fins on heads and cylinders.

Great looking gun and finishing work, the gun does increase productivity at much faster rate than the previous chinese version i was using and faster cleaning must admit, the only comment i have is if there would be a way to elbow the brass connections closer to each other or design the inlet and out let closer in order to avoid the protruding hose gap holding the actual gun during the blasting process.

This gun is a least twice as fast , or more. I one gun to try out and bought a second one about a week later. I have a 25 HP ,screw air compressor,so air is not an issue. Have 5 machines at this time. Also bought the Flexzilla hose . Between the gun with different air jets and nozzle sizes you can try out different sizes and the Flexzilla hose it makes blasting much quicker and less effort. Wish larger airjets and nozzles were avaliable. Thanks so much Matt

I had two different guns that I tried, both of Chinese descent, neither one even came close to this gun from Matt. I have only used 30/60 glass bead on my work so far but it is quick and clean, leaves a good finish. Just ordered some 100 Alum Oxide which is coming in this week, so will see how that does.
I would recommend this gun for anyone wet or dry. (I am using it dry). Can’t go wrong and worth the price.

So often the product you see advertised doesn’t live up to your expectation when it arrives. This is not the case with the vapour/ dry blast gun marketed by HTMR. I ordered the 3hp gun for my smaller volume compressor. It is without any question a top quality product which is as, good or better than the web site/ Utube would suggest. The machining and finish is totally professional and the attention to detail of an excellent quality. I was completely satisfied with the gun.
Overall the shopping experience was excellent from my initial enquire to my guns arrival within a week of ordering it. It was impressive service considering I live in Far North Queensland, Australia. I can and do recommend HTMR and Matt as, reliable and an honest supplier and I would recommend this business unreservedly.

Have received the 3 H.P. gun. And “Yes”, it does everything better. It uses less air and is quieter. More precise at doing the “detail” cleaning, and substantially less time. Very satisfied with the product so far. It’s being used to refurbish 125 cc two stroke kart motors, the results are amazing.
I’m trying regulate the volume of slurry to my nozzle to see if that can enhance the performance of the nozzle. You stated something to the effect as to why you had to put a 5mm nozzle on the 3 H.P. gun.

I purchased the 7.5HP Gun, along with extra Nozzle pack for both the 7.5 and 5.0HP so I could run tests to see how this gun would preform on my 15CFM compressor system. Needless to say the new Gun “exceeded all my expectations”. In the last few days I have now up graded may compressor to a 10HP with a 36CFM and it has a FAD of 25CFM, so will now look at up grading the gun to the lager nozzle to suit that HP. The product arrived in super fast shipping time from the US to Auckland, New Zealand. The product is “very very” well made and on first test was found to preform as fast ,if not more than stated. loved the tapper design ceramic nozzle for those small confined hard to get at areas . I Highly recommended product.

totally new experience. bought a cheap amazon, Chinese, gun. tried all kinds of modifications to no avail. Bought Matt’s gun and was totally amazed. very powerful. I am not used to having my air compressor shut off while blasting, it is that efficient. I still have some adjusting to do, I cant seem to keep a constant flow. It wants to surge at times. Even with this it still outperforms anything I have done in the past.

Well built. Definitely noticeably faster than the conventional nozzle. Might still be underpowered for 10hp or higher. But definitely more than capable within the 10hp range. I will be doing some test to see if reducing the psi might actually make the cleaning action faster to see if a bottleneck could occur. But definitely a fine line between CFM and PSI to make it run at its most optimum. Ultimately it is the best acquisition to my cabinet so far.

This gun is an absolute unit! I can’t believe my powder coating shop went this long without it. I have a 10hp air compressor and I’m finally able to utilize the air I have on hand! I was using the factory pistol grip blast gun that came with the cabinet, and it was OK, but very time consuming due to barely any media and air flow. I also have a pressure pot that’s tapped into the cabinet and it works great, but the downside is having to stop every 10 minutes to fill it, so I refrained from using it often because of that. The HTMR blast gun absolutely took my dry blast cabinet to a level of enjoyment that I didn’t think was possible! I did not have to change a single thing on the cabinet, I just hooked up the lines and we were good to go. This blast gun is most likely going to be a total replacement to the pressure pot as well, considering it has a ton of power & efficiency, a nice wide blast pattern, AND I don’t have to keep refilling a pressure pot! Top notch quality, great shipping times, and all around a fantastic upgrade. Thank you for making such a great product!

I wanted to tell you how great your gun is. It instantly was so much better for getting into tighter spaces and with the Flexilla hoses maneuverability is greatly improved. I have a small Vapor Honing business and have already increased my productivity and efficiency. I just ordered extra nozzles in both sizes. I found that the 5hp gun is great for cutting through but the 7.5hp works well for blending and finishing so I want to make sure I don’t go without. I’m new to vapor blasting and Matt’s YouTube channel is where I first was introduced to the process. I researched for a couple of years at least before I decided to buy Matt’s plans to build a cabinet using a Harbor Freight cabinet I had been given several years ago that was just the cabinet itself. I had also bought his plans to build a cabinet from scratch. I bought his blast gun, some Flexzilla hose, and a pair of gloves. While I was contemplating getting into vapor blasting, I came across the Vapor Honing Technologies YouTube channel. Over the course of about a year, I had been in regular contact with one of their representatives asking lots of questions. I knew I wanted to have the process in my shop, and one day the VHT representative I had been talking with called me to inform me they were having a sale on their weekend warrior cabinet with the closed loop system at a price far below what they normally cost, so I sprung for it. I also bought a new 7.5 hp Eaton compressor since my 5 hp Campbell-Hausfeld compressor I bought at Lowe’s was twenty years old. I decided to go all-in. I am still going to finish the Harbor Freight cabinet build, but I figured this would get me up and running much faster. Making a very long story short, I found a fatal flaw in the engineering of the VHT cabinet that crippled the machine so bad to the point it could not supply the CFM required to feed the gun that the machine came equipped with as evidenced by poor performance when blasting. With what I learned from videos on Matt’s YouTube channel and suggestions from him personally, I corrected the design flaw so the cabinet could support any gun up to and including one jetted for a 15 hp compressor. The gun that is in the VHT cabinet is a garbage Chinesium gun I figured out is jetted for a 10 hp compressor. So once I fixed the engineering problem, I tested both guns side by side, and there is no comparison. Matt’s HTMR gun is vastly superior in every way. I used the HTMR gun I bought for the HF build in the VHT cabinet and I will be buying another HTMR gun for the HF cabinet. It is a phenomenally well engineered and precision manufactured product that is easily worth every penny I paid for it and more. $250 is generous on Matt’s part I assure you, it is worth much more. You will not be disappointed. If you are in the market for a blast gun, be it wet or dry, this is the one you want. If you currently are blasting with a different gun, scrap it and buy the HTMR gun.

I’ve been sandblasting bronze sculptures for patina prep for over 30 years. This is the best gun I’ve ever used! Comfortable to use, great siphon, consistent blast. I can use less pressure and still get done faster. Nozzle design lets you get into all the nooks and crannies like inside the fins of the cylinder barrels that I just stripped to repaint. I’ve been using it for over a year and am very happy with it.
