How-To: Honda CB750 Carburetor Rebuild 1969-1976
This step by step video tutorial will cover everything you need to know on how to properly remove, clean, inspect, assemble, synchronize, and tune the carburetors on your CB750. These carburetors were blasted in my DIY Vapor Blaster to restore the finish & look. Make sure to also check out my 9hr long engine rebuild video.
Are you doing any rebuild videos on XS 650’s? They have a very strong following to and engine was produced even longer then the SOHC 750 Honda.
Maybe in the future.
I want to buy the video but want to make sure I won’t need any really expensive tools or equipment to do this myself. I’m a DIYer and am definitely willing to shell out for some tools. Are the tools required relatively affordable and/or likely to be in my tool kit anyway? Thanks!
All common hand tools with the exception of a carb synch tool.
I have a 1986 Honda gl1200 Aspencade A carbureted, won’t start, spark only on cyl 1&2, 3&4 are dead spark even with new coil, what’s next?
I’m not familiar with that model. Is 3&4 fed from the same coil?
Hey Matt, super excited about finding your videos. And will be buying them all most likely. I have a question though. I bought a 74 cb750 last year, was running fine, with a few things that needed to be worked on. Gave it to a guy to work on and he had it all last summer. Got it back near the end of fall and has run roughly ever since. I think its the carbs but unsure as of yet. My question is about the breather tube though. Bike starts and idles fine, but once it gets up to temp there is vapor, and even fluid coming out of the breather tube. The vapor/smoke is white and the fluid is gas, I think. Any idea off hand what the issue might be? I believe the guy rebuilt the carbs and I do have pod air filters. Appreciate any direction you could give me. Thanks
Michael, which breather tube are we talking about? On the carb or the valve cover? Feel free to email me pics.
Matthew
I bought the Honda CB 750 carb video a couple of years ago and now am finally getting to the project. Trouble is – I cna’t find the video link in my inbox. Are you able to resend to me as a past customer so I can get to it?
Thanks for the consideration
Yes, check your inbox.
Would this be close enough to the same as a carb rebuild for an 81 750k? About to tackle that and I’ve used your vids in the past on a different project. Absolutely worthwhile.
No it won’t. Motorcycle MD has a video for your carbs: https://motorcyclemd.mykajabi.com/Honda-CB900f-carb-cleaning-workshop-
Matthew, does this video cover the 1981 CB750K Carbs? I received a basket case that I put back together with a Honda Manual. I rebuilt the carbs already. What I don’t know is initial setup, tuning and balancing.
